What data this site currently collects

  • You do not need to register or log in to browse this site, and we do not ask you to provide medical records or identity documents.
  • Public pages do not set cookies. Our first-party usage analytics records pages, language, time, referring website domains, search categories and specialty counts, entry and contact clicks, public doctor codes, and randomly generated identifiers. We use these records to understand site usage. We use tab and page identifiers to connect browsing activity within a tab. We also connect page views, internal links, search turns and contact clicks to understand the visit. Contact clicks identify the publicly listed doctor, practice and channel. To recognise visits from the same browser, we also keep a randomly generated browsing identifier in the browser’s local storage. Each visit renews its validity until 30 days after the most recent visit. Clearing browser data removes this identifier but does not delete analytics records we have already received. These identifiers do not establish that multiple visits came from the same person. We also record cumulative time when a page is visible and when it is both visible and focused. We estimate active use from foreground time within 60 seconds of entering the foreground or the most recent interaction, and separately count intervals that cannot be timed reliably. Your browser detects pointer, touch, keyboard or wheel interaction locally; these statistics do not record key contents, typed text or pointer coordinates. These times are usage estimates, not a measure of how long you actually read. The records use the identifiers described above.
  • Our website hosting service provider records basic technical data, such as IP address, browser type and access time, for security and to keep the service running.
  • If you contact us by email, we will keep the contact details and content you provide, and use them only to reply to and handle your enquiry or correction request.

How data is used, transferred and kept

We use such data only for the purposes above and will not sell your personal data. To provide the service, the data may be processed on our behalf by website hosting and email service providers; the basic technical data recorded by the website hosting provider may be stored outside Hong Kong.

Emails about general enquiries are kept for no more than twelve months after the matter has been handled; the content of AI search and pre-consultation conversations, and feedback you choose to send, is kept for at most 180 days and then deleted automatically, or sooner when no longer needed; records of confirmations from healthcare institutions are kept for as long as the relevant information remains published, so that it can be checked. This does not apply where the law requires otherwise.

AI search and pre-consultation

What you enter on this site, including searches and the pre-consultation conversation, is processed by service providers we have engaged, in order to respond to your query, prepare a visit summary and improve this site. What you enter and the system's replies may be kept and used for analysis and to improve the service.

Please do not enter your name, phone number, identity card number or address. The visit summary only organises what you said. It is not a diagnosis and has not been verified by a doctor.

Voice input: if you choose to speak instead of typing, the recording goes through our server in Hong Kong to a service provider we have engaged in mainland China (Beijing), which turns it into text; the text is put in the input box for you to check before you send it. Please do not say your name, phone number or identity card number in a recording.

"Conversations" is a list kept in the browser you are using (up to ten) so you can look back at them. The conversations themselves are still sent to us and processed, kept and analysed as described above; pressing "Clear" in Conversations, or clearing your browser data, deletes only the list on this device.

Whether to send the summary to a clinic is your decision. Once sent, it is handled by WhatsApp and that clinic under their own policies.

If you choose to send the summary on WhatsApp, it is placed in the link that opens WhatsApp, which fills it into your message; you can edit or delete it before you press send. Our usage statistics record only whether the link carried text, never the text itself.

Feedback

If you send feedback with the "Send feedback" button, we receive the text you write, together with the page you are on, the language you use and an anonymous identifier.

If you choose to attach this conversation, we also receive the conversation (what you entered and the system's replies), the doctors and guides shown in it, and the text of the visit summary.

Feedback is sent only when you choose to send it, and is used only to analyse and improve this site. Please do not include your name, phone number, identity card number or address in your feedback.

To ask us to delete feedback you have sent, please email us at the address on the Contact and corrections page.

Features to be launched later

When we launch finding a doctor by criteria or the booking function, more data may need to be processed, such as the contact details needed for a booking. We will explain the purpose before collecting any data, and update this policy.

Accessing and correcting data

Under Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the right to access, and to request correction of, personal data we hold about you. To make a request, please email us at the address on the Contact and corrections page; we will reply within 40 days of receiving your request.
