Women aged 25 to 64 who have ever had sexual experience should have regular screening, and the recommendations listed by the Department of Health's Cervical Screening Programme are the same as those of the Cancer Expert Working Group on Cancer Prevention and Screening (Department of Health Cervical Screening Programme; Cancer Expert Working Group on Cancer Prevention and Screening, 2021); for details, see How to choose an obstetrician and gynaecologist.
Participants in the Department of Health's Breast Cancer Screening Pilot Programme Phase II must be women aged 35 to 74 who have a specified gene mutation confirmed by genetic testing or a strong family history of breast or ovarian cancer (those with a family history may start 10 years earlier than the age of the youngest diagnosed family member, but not before 30), must hold a Hong Kong Identity Card or Certificate of Exemption, be registered with eHealth, and have no symptoms or history of breast cancer; for details, see How to choose a breast cancer doctor.
