How much does a mammogram cost at each hospital?
The table below lists the mammography fees published on the websites of the 11 Hong Kong private hospitals checked by this site, not every institution in Hong Kong.
Compiled by this site: two-dimensional (both breasts) about HK$1,450 to HK$2,160; three-dimensional (both breasts) about HK$2,600 to HK$4,140; two-dimensional with breast ultrasound (both breasts) about HK$2,100 to HK$3,040. Pricing bases differ between hospitals (outpatient, standard room or a single fee), so rely on the notes when comparing.
How this list was put together: an institution is listed when it publishes this fee on its own website and this site has checked the figures against that fee schedule. The rows are in a fixed order, not in order of price; this site does not recommend any institution, the order says nothing about quality, and the list is not every institution in Hong Kong.

What do the fees include?
The figures in the table are the hospitals' examination fees. Most hospitals list separate prices for outpatients and for each class of ward by patient status, and inpatient charges rise with the room class; some hospitals state that fees are adjusted for examinations outside office hours or in an emergency.
Two-dimensional and three-dimensional mammography are priced differently, and some hospitals also have a combined price that includes breast ultrasound.
How much does a mammogram cost at a public hospital?
From 1 January 2026, Eligible Persons pay per item for non-emergency radiology services at the Hospital Authority: Basic items (for example X-ray) are free, Intermediate items cost HK$250 per service and Advanced items HK$500 per service. In explaining the reform when it was announced, the Hospital Authority Chief Executive said that ultrasound and mammography are Intermediate items, that is HK$250 each.
What should I ask before booking?
Is it a two-dimensional or a three-dimensional mammogram? Do I need a breast ultrasound as well?
Does the fee include the radiologist's report and the doctor explaining it?
Is the fee different outside office hours or on holidays?
Can the medical insurance pay the hospital directly?
For how to pay with medical insurance, see using medical insurance for a private specialist; for health check plan fees, see health check package fees; for other tests: X-ray, bone density test, blood tests, ultrasound, CT, MRI.
Frequently asked questions
Why do mammogram fees at private hospitals differ so much?
Each hospital sets its own fees, with different prices for outpatients and each class of ward, and some hospitals adjust fees for examinations outside office hours or in an emergency.
How much more does a three-dimensional mammogram cost than a two-dimensional one?
At the hospitals in the table that publish both fees, three-dimensional is generally higher than two-dimensional; for example, CUHK Medical Centre's outpatient fee is HK$1,630 for two-dimensional and HK$3,780 for three-dimensional. Which one is done is decided by the doctor according to the case.
